Avoiding False Prophets and False Apostles
Positive Christianity Series Episode #234
Paul described that when he preached in different churches, there was opposition. While preaching in the Church of Galatia, there were false brothers who attempted to prevent Paul from preaching. Paul described that he did not yield to the false apostles and instead kept preaching King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. Paul kept preaching when the false apostles probably attempted to tempt Paul to practice sin and idol worship. The false apostles could have been Pharisees or idolators. We learn that previously the Pharisees attempted to prevent Paul from preaching hindering and also slandering Paul.
"Yet because of false brothers secretely brought in- who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery- to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment."- Galatians 2: 4
Paul described that he was envied by false apostles for preaching King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. We learn that the false apostles "appeared" to be Christians to Paul, but were false christians and idolators who actually wanted to lead to disobedience so that Paul did not preach truth. Paul described that the false brothers actually wanted to lead to idol worship and sin. We learn that the practice of sin is captivity and slavery. Paul recognized that in the worship of GOD Almighty there is true freedom. We learn that we have autonomy and freedom given by GOD Almighty that prevents us from wanting to practice sin, adultery, and idol worship.
"So that the truth of the Gospel might be preserved for you."- Galatians 2: 5
We are supposed to keep preaching truth knowing that only GOD Almighty is to be worshiped and this wisdom allows us to persevere amidst everything. Paul understood that the false apostles wanted to lead to sin and did not partake in idol worship. We learn that sin wants to lead to vices and captivity. Instead we have autonomy and freedom in King Jesus Christ. We learn that we have everything that we need in the worship of King Jesus Christ.
Paul instead of listening to the false prophets who suggested practicing sin and idol worship decided to persevere with fidelity to King Jesus Christ. Paul instead listened to and obeyed King Jesus Christ preaching eternal salvation to the Gentiles in different regions. We learn that because individuals were repenting of idolatry and sin, the false prophets attempted to prevent Paul from preaching. We can persevere learning from Paul that we can avoid negative narcissists and idolators who envy individuals that have freedom in King Jesus Christ. We can choose to persevere practicing fidelity to GOD Almighty and leave the shackles of sin and idolatry in the past where they belong. Paul renounced idolatry seen in Phariseeism and never returned back appreciating the freedom and autonomy that we have in King Jesus Christ.
