 The Importance of Obeying the Commandments and Developing Diligence

Positive Christianity Series Episode #73


"Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor."- Proverbs 21: 21 

Because there is so much information being produced, we still have to make sure to know the difference between the information that is trying to help us persevere in the path of eternal salvation worshiping GOD Almighty and obeying the commandments from the false and negative information that wants individuals to practice sin and idolatry. We have to understand that we have to keep our faith and zeal so that we do not get discouraged. We have to guard ourselves with Scripture and obeying the commandments. We have to know the information that helps us from the information that wants us to doubt GOD Almighty. We know that false and negative information does not help gain knowledge and wisdom although it attempts to "appear" to provide " wisdom" and "knowledge" while trying to lead far from obedience to the commandments and studying Scripture. We learn that the practice of sin is folly and not wisdom. We learn that true wisdom is obedience to the commandments of Moses with sincerity of heart. We can not doubt Scripture or the worship of GOD Almighty.

We learn that the Spirit of Truth helps us know that if there is specific false and negative information that wants individuals to have resentments, anger, hate, and envy for no reason, then we should remove and get rid of that false and negative information. We do not have to be a part of that information, and we can not pay attention to that type of false and negative information. This speaks about being able to persevere with serenity and an objective point of view that prevents there from being a subjective point of view and anger that wants to lead to the practice of disobedience to the commandments. The Spirit of Truth is able to help us have objectivity and serenity so that we can keep calm and persevere obeying the commandments of Moses. We can read the Scriptures and also go to prayer to ask for the help of the Spirit of Truth to help us understand the Scriptures and gain wisdom so that we obey the commandments with sincerity of heart, have the fear of the LORD, and hate evil and not practice sin. 

Praying for Discernment to Know the Difference Between the Eternal Truth and Temporary Lies

The Spirit of Truth helps us have discernment so that we avoid the path of the wicked and guard our heart and mind from reading negative and false information, believing temporary lies, having negative emotions, practicing sexual immorality describing fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, and from practicing sin. We are also able to preach with boldness and wisdom so that we confess King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior and preach repentance of sin with sincerity of heart. When there is other information that wants us to have doubts about our faith, we are able to have boldness to preach and keep persevering in the worship of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We are able then to doubt the discouragements, temporary lies, and envy of sin.

When we practice righteousness obeying the commandments of Moses with sincerity of heart, we are able to have the help of the Spirit of Truth. We are able to guard our heart and mind from the deceit, temporary lies, and falsehoods that evil wants to use to cause discouragements to lead to the practice of sin and idol worship. This is so that we know the information that is based on truth that is trying to help us persevere in the path of righteousness having eternal salvation from the temporary lies of idol worship. We learn that we have to be active in our Christianity so that we do not let the falsehoods discourage into believing temporary lies. We are able to be industrious when we are Christians because we decide to use our time for the worship of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. This speaks about not allowing for there to be slothfulness in our day to day lives. We know that being active allows us to be productive throughout our day so that we worship GOD Almighty with our time, work, and resources. We learn that this allows the virtue of diligence to be developed over time that allows us to keep preaching, writing, using our virtues and talents that keep improving, and making sure that we are utilizing everything that we have for the glorification of GOD Almighty.

Increasing in Virtues and Removing Vices

When we have this understanding, we are able to understand that we can not misutilize our time and virtues on things that do not matter. We are able to give priority to the worship of GOD Almighty and guard our heart and mind from idol worship, hate, anger, envy, gluttony, intemperance, avarice, greed, arrogance, slothfulness, vices, and stagnation from leading to the path of destruction for the unrepentant wicked. Christianity calls us to be active. We can not be passive in the sense that we need to make sure that we are going to prayer each day, reading Scripture, worshiping GOD Almighty by preaching, writing, singing, and obeying the commandments of Moses each day. We are able to understand the need to repent of sin when needed. This speaks about the importance of being active and industrious throughout the day so that we do not allow sin to attempt to lead to the practice of sin based on laziness, slothfulness, or having nothing do. We know that there is always something to accomplish because we are able to go to prayer and have guidance knowing that we are able to make the worship of GOD Almighty the priority.

This is going to fight the temptation to be lazy during the day. I can say that slothfulness and laziness is another vice that needs to be removed from our day to day lives so that we are able to keep being industrious, grow in virtues and talents that prevent stagnation from taking place, and be able to have gratitude to GOD Almighty for allowing us to keep increasing in wisdom and fidelity when we use our virtues and talents for the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that this allows us to persevere without having vices and being able to remove any attempts from evil that want individuals to be unproductive, lazy, and inefficient.
