The Importance of Practicing Empathy and Zeal
Positive Christianity Series Episode #88
"Let not your heart envy sinners, but persevere in the fear of the LORD all the day. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off."- Proverbs 23: 17-18
We learm that practicing genuine empathy and filial love is able to prevent us from believing the temporary lies of evil while guarding ourselves from the practice of lust and hate. We learn that when we practice obedience to the commandments of Moses, we are able to develop empathy that helps us persevere with righteousness and wisdom. We learn that we develop humility and zeal that prevents us from having arrogance and lukewarm belief. We learn that evil wants individuals to think that practicing "empathy is weakness" when in reality there is strength in choosing to forsake arrogance and foolishness. We learn that the reason that evil wants individuals to believe that "empathy is weakness" is because empathy and humility prevents us from hating and quarreling. We learn that we are not supposed to hate people and instead we are supposed to hate evil. We learn that evil wants individuals to hate people and not hate evil. We learn that GOD Almighty tells us in obeying the commandments that we are supposed to love GOD Almighty above everything with sincerity of heart and respect humanity because humanity is part of the creation that GOD Almighty created.
"It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling."- Proverbs 20: 3
This understanding prevents us from having negative emotions describing hate, anger, envy, and coveting that evil wants to cause in individuals. We learn that evil wants individuals to have arrogance so that they practice self-worship and do not obey the commandments of Moses. We learn that self-worship and idol worship leads to difficulties including negative emotions describing hate, anger, envy, and coveting. We learn that evil wants individuals to practice negative emotions. We learn that GOD Almighty tells us that we do not need to have arrogance and negative emotions. We are able to develop humility that is able to remove arrogance. We learn that we are supposed to have dominion over our emotions and remove arrogance from our lives. We learn that empathy is strength when there is zeal, responsibility, and fidelity to GOD Almighty. This speaks about the manner that the worship of GOD Almighty helps us develop positive emotions while removing negative emotions, hate, anger, envy, coveting, and arrogance.
"'Scoffer' is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride."- Proverbs 21: 24
We learn that while we have empathy and humility, we are also supposed to guard our heart and mind from false and negative information, false prophets, and false philosophies of hate and lust. We learn that evil does not want individuals to have humility and zeal because we are able to recognize that arrogance is not helpful and that we are able to guard ourselves when we have zeal. We learn that we also need to develop zeal and wisdom when we grow in humility so that we guard ourselves from negative people and negative and false information. This describes that we do not need to hear from false and negative information that does not help at all. We are also able to avoid and be far apart from negative people that do not try to help, do not practice empathy, and have negative emotions and want to cause negative emotions in others. We learn that evil does not want individuals to understand the importance of zeal and wisdom because then they are able to guard themselves from temporary lies, deceit, and falsehood. We learn that evil tries to ridicule or insult the importance of having zeal and wisdom because individuals are able to protect their heart and mind from temporary lies and hate.
"Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease."- Proverbs 22: 10
This describes the manner that we do not have to listen to and much less believe temporary lies that attempt to discourage, demotivate, or cause negative emotions. We are able to acknowledge that insults or revilings are used by evil and the workers of evil to try to discourage. We learn that evil attempted to discourage Moses at different times because of Moses' humility and fidelity to GOD Almighty while Moses was accomplishing the purpose of GOD Almighty of freeing Israel from Egypt. We learn that Noah was probably ridiculed and scoffed at for obeying GOD Almighty while evil doers were practicing sin and iniquity until the flood destroyed the wicked. We learn that Rebekah's daughters-in-law made life bitter for Rebekah and Isaac due to their idol worship and negative emotions. We learn that Jacob was able to persevere in righteousness and humility and obtain favor and blessings. We learn that the false apostles ridiculed Paul's appearance and speech because of how effective and logical Paul's preaching was. We learn that Paul caused for Christianity to be preached in the nations, and people converted to Christianity renouncing idol worship, hate, and lust. This speaks about the manner that we are supposed to persevere with humility and empathy knowing that we choose to worship the Creator and not the creation, and also have zeal and wisdom to guard ourselves from discouragements, hate, and envy from idolaters, adulterers, and adultresses.
