Obeying the Commandments is Instruction in Wisdom
Obeying the Commandments is Instruction in Wisdom
Positive Christianity Series Episode #99
GOD Almighty instructs us to obey the commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai so that we are able to persevere with favor, blessings, goodness, and protection from the temporary lies of sin and evil. We learn from the Books of Moses, Job, Proverbs, and Psalms that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. This speaks about knowing that having faith and confidence in GOD Almighty over everything is able to help us persevere in the path of eternal salvation so that we do not practice idol worship, vices, and sin. We learn that GOD Almighty cares about righteous individuals and helps us persevere because we choose to have fidelity to GOD Almighty and not practice spiritual adultery that is idol worship. We are supposed to place the priority on the worship of GOD Almighty and not prioritize resources, idol worship, and "relationships" that try to lead to the practice of sin. The Sacred Scriptures allow us to understand knowledge and wisdom so that we worship GOD Almighty with our actions, words, and intentions.
"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of GOD."- Proverbs 2: 1-5
GOD Almighty wants to help us persevere amidst times, obstacles, and circumstances. We know that we can persevere when we choose to place the priority and importance on the worship of the Creator, GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. This speaks about keeping the commandments in our heart and mind so that we obey the commandments with sincerity of heart. Obedience to the commandments of Moses prevents the practice of sin, temporary lies, negative emotions describing frustration, fear, bitterness, resentment, hate, anger, envy, and coveting, idol worship, lust, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and vices from leading to stagnation, increasing difficulties, and destruction. We learn that GOD Almighty instructs the commandments to Moses, and Moses was able to instruct the commandments to Israel. We learn that David instructs the importance of righteousness and obeying the commandments to Israel in the Psalms and also so that Solomon would be able to prosper. This describes the manner that we need to receive instruction and accept correction and reproof to avoid the path of perdition.
Solomon described the importance of obtaining wisdom being even greater that material resources describing silver. This was learned from David who describes in the Psalms the need to worship GOD Almighty and choose fidelity to GOD Almighty better than thousands of gold and silver pieces Psalm 119: 72. This speaks about the worship of GOD Almighty being greater and better than material resources and causing us to have true happiness and gratitude. This is because we choose to delight in the worship of GOD Almighty that is greater than the things of the world. We learn that GOD Almighty instructs us to obey the commandments so that we can practice good and obtain favor, blessings, goodness, and prosper. We learn that David instructed Solomon to worship GOD Almighty and not practice idol worship so that he could prosper. Solomon instructed the Proverbs so that individuals can obtain wisdom and worship GOD Almighty. We learn that this was learned from David although David never practiced idolatry.
"For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the path of his saints."- Proverbs 2: 6-8
We learn that while knowledge is important, wisdom is even greater than knowledge. We learn that wisdom is the fear of the LORD, obeying the commandments, and hating evil. We learn that wisdom allows us to persevere without practicing sin and being able to distinguish that we need to practice good while hating evil. We learn that the greatest virtue is fidelity because we know that only in the worship of GOD Almighty do we improve, grow, develop virtues, and increase in wisdom. We learn that we also begin to develop other virtues including integrity, morality, and ethics that prevent us from believing the temporary lies of evil. We learn that GOD Almighty is a shield to the individuals that choose to have integrity and prevents us from thinking that hypocrisy and self-righteousness can help when it only leads to iniquity and arrogance. GOD Almighty is Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Infallible, Indestructible, Inexhaustible, Infinite, and Eternal among other qualities that the human mind can not understand. We learn that GOD Almighty is Omniscient and Omnipresent and guards the path of the true, faithful, humble, and righteous so that we persevere to eternal salvation in King Jesus Christ avoiding the path of perdition in the practice of idol worship and sin.
