Persevering With Humility, Wisdom, Instruction, and Correction

Persevering With Humility, Wisdom, Instruction, and Correction

Positive Christianity Series Episode #101

Initially, Solomon obtains wisdom because he asks GOD Almighty for wisdom. We learn that in the story of Solomon, there is the need to also have humility to recognize that we can not worship idols. We learn that the story of Solomon describes how idol worship caused difficulties to Solomon leading to negative emotions described in Ecclesiastes. We learn that in Ecclesiastes, Solomon does not sound as jubilant and disciplined compared to Proverbs. We learn that this describes the effects of idol worship that leads to bitterness and difficulties. We learn that even in Ecclesiastes after having a thousand wives, opulence unlike anything seen in the past, times of stability, and wisdom, Solomon states that the fear of the LORD and obedience to the commandments of Moses should be prioritized and given importance.

This describes that Solomon was able to realize that even after practicing sin in idol worship when he was old, that the priority should be to worship GOD Almighty above everything. We learn that the idol worship of Solomon caused the kingdom of Israel to be divided into two parts. We learn that idol worship causes division, bitterness, and conflict. The worship of GOD Almighty with sincerity of heart causes unity, harmony, and true joy. This is the reason that David allows us to know that even when there is an increase of wisdom in the worship of GOD Almighty, we are supposed to practice humility so that we persevere with fidelity to GOD Almighty. We learn that the opulence, wisdom, and thousand wives (some were from idolatrous nations and practiced idolatry) caused Solomon to think that he could practice idol worship. David never practices idol worship throughout his life.

"At that time Jesus declared, 'I thank you, Father, LORD of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for so it pleased you well. All things have been handed to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."- Matthew 11: 27-28

We learn that we need to value humility along with wisdom being able to accept correction and reproof without feeling offended. This is similar to how David was reproved on occasions and listened to GOD Almighty and the prophet instead of disregarding reproof and correction. This is similar to Paul who accepts correction and forsakes Phariseeism in favor of eternal life in King Jesus Christ. We learn that King Jesus Christ gives us correction and reproof so that we do not practice sin and iniquity. We learn that King Jesus Christ preached righteousness and fidelity to GOD Almighty. We learn that we can not practice arrogance. We learn that King Jesus Christ describes the sincerity of heart being like that of a child in the manner that there is no impurity, iniquity, nor hate. This describes the understanding that humility is needed to be righteous and have fidelity to GOD Almighty. We learn that evil wants to tempt with arrogance so that there is anger, bitterness, and hate. We learn that King Jesus Christ describes that the wisdom of GOD Almighty had been hidden from the "wise" and understanding meaning that individuals that were arrogant and "wise" according to the world because of idol worship did not understand the need to have humility and fidelity to GOD Almighty. This is because evil wants individuals to have disdain or not value humility since humility leads to fidelity and true wisdom.

We learn that we need to have humility to recognize King Jesus Christ being Messiah. We learn that there is true wisdom in recognizing King Jesus Christ being the Son of GOD Almighty and the Son of David. We learn that we are reconciled to GOD Almighty, the Father, when we accept King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. When we repent of sin, accept King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior, and obey the commandments of Moses with sincerity of heart, we are able to persevere with the help of the Spirit of Truth. If individuals do not accept King Jesus Christ, they do not have reconciliation with GOD Almighty, the Father. This speaks about having true wisdom to know the truth from temporary lies of sin. We know that the Pharisees preached but did not practice obedience to the commandments of Moses and did not recognize King Jesus Christ Messiah. The Pharisees and false apostles that persecuted Paul did not want to listen to reproof and correction because they had allowed arrogance, resources, "relationships", and idol worship to lead far from the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that evil wants to tempt individuals to practice sin by leading to arrogance and causing people to not want to listen to reproof and correction similar to Balaam who did not want to be reproved and trusted in illicit resources or Saul who did not want to listen to GOD Almighty, Samuel, or David. This describes the importance of humility and wisdom. Reproof and correction is constructive-criticism that allows us to practice humility knowing that we do not know everything, yet GOD Almighty does know everything for all time and all eternity. This is why King Jesus Christ gives wisdom and also instructs humility. This is consistent with Old Testament reproof and correction.
