The Importance of Practicing Humility
The Importance of Practicing Humility
Positive Christianity Series Episode #108
King Jesus Christ instructs the need to practice humility and meekness so that we do not believe the temporary lies of evil that want to lead to self-worship, idol worship, and arrogance disobeying the commandments instructed to Moses on Mount Sinai. There is the need to have humility to receive instruction and correction by obeying the commandments and learning from Scripture each day. We learn that we can always make time at the beginning of the day to pray and read minimum five minutes of encouraging Scripture that reminds us of the eternal truth of the promises of GOD Almighty about New Earth and New Jerusalem. We learn that we can not believe the discouragements of evil that want to lead to resentments, anger, hate, and envy. We are able to have humility to thwart the temporary lies of evil. We learn that along with fidelity, zeal and humility are hated by evil because these virtues prevent us from believing the temporary lies of evil.
"Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."- Matthew 18: 4
We learn that King Jesus Christ described the importance of developing humility because humility and meekness prevent us from thinking that we can boast in our virtues. We learn that we must have humility to acknowledge that GOD Almighty is who allows us to increase in virtues and prevents us from having vices in the worship of the GOD of gods, GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We learn that humility prevents arrogance and self-worship from leading to the practice of sin. We learn that arrogance and self-worship caused Korah's rebellion to rebel against Moses being that Moses had done nothing wrong. This was because Korah's rebellion did not want to obey the commandments, did not want to trust in the humble and righteous leadership of Moses, and wanted to return to Egypt to practice idol worship. We learn that Moses practiced humility and meekness and was able to persevere growing in virtues past the age of a hundred years of age. We learn that Moses' humility allowed him to be righteous and persevere with fidelity to GOD Almighty.
False philosophies of the world want individuals to practice arrogance instead of humility, so that individuals practice sin instead of obedience to GOD Almighty. We learn that the wicked Pharisees were similar to the false priests of Korah's rebellion who were faithless, arrogant, and did not have fidelity to GOD Almighty. Humility prevents us from believing that individuals can practice idol worship or self-worship knowing that the Creator of the Highest Heavens, lower heavens, the universe, humanity, the earth, creation, and everything merits the worship. We learn that GOD Almighty is not arbitrary and is just and righteous; therefore, GOD Almighty merits the worship. We learn that the virtues help us grow and improve so that we are able to persevere in the path of eternal salvation accepting and confessing King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior, repent of sin with sincerity of heart, and obey the commandments of Moses. We learn that we need humility along with zeal and fidelity. Humility similar to zeal and fidelity allow us to improve in virtues while we avoid the path of perdition in the practice of arrogance, envy, hate, sin, idol worship, temporary lies, and vices that want to lead to woes, stagnation, and destruction of the unrepentant wicked.
"Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."- Matthew 18: 5-6
We learn that King Jesus Christ guards us from temptations to sin. We learn that when we have sincerity of heart and obey the commandments of Moses with devotion to GOD Almighty, we are able to persevere. Humility allows us to know that we can not listen to and much less believe the temporary lies of evil that attempt to entice to the practice of sin based of deceit and falsehoods. We learn that King Jesus Christ did not forsake Moses and Israel when Moses and Israel were being tempted by Balaak, Moab, and Balaam's suggestion to cause the practice of idol worship and adultery. We learn that Balaak, Moab, and Balaam were afflicted for attempting to tempt Moses and Israel with idol worship and adultery. Balaam tempted Moses and Israel in order to obtain illicit resources. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel had fidelity to GOD Almighty and persevered in the desert and reached the land of Israel. The wicked that practiced sin were destroyed by the plague. Balaam was destroyed after being reproved that he could not go against Israel. Balaam was destroyed by the sword. This describes that GOD Almighty helps the righteous and does not forsake us. We learn that Korah's rebellion was destroyed even when they rebelled against GOD Almighty and Moses. Korah's rebellion attempted to misrepresent Moses through slander, and Moses persevered. We learn that GOD Almighty does not forsake the righteous including Paul who persevered preaching without practicing sin nor giving in to temptation.
"GOD is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the path of escape, that you may be able to endure it."- 1 Corinthians 10: 13
