Parable of the Talents
Parable of the Talents
Positive Christianity Series Episode #113
GOD Almighty gives each individual autonomy and the choice to decide if they want to worship GOD Almighty above everything and grow in virtues or not. We know that there are only two paths: the path of the righteous where there is improvement and eternal salvation or the path of destruction practicing sin that leads to stagnation and vices. GOD Almighty gives each individual the choice to decide. We learn that the righteous individuals that choose to accept and confess King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior, obey the commandments of Moses, and repent of sin are able to persevere in the path of eternal salvation described in the Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Wheat and Weeds.
We learn that the wicked that decided to deny King Jesus Christ, disobey the commandments of Moses, and practice sin and vices have woes, stagnation, and destruction for their unrepentance. The wicked decide to practice idol worship, negative emotions, envy and coveting, and have their virtues removed (if there were virtues in the past). This describes the importance of developing responsibility so that we do not need to envy and covet and so that we know that we are accountable to GOD Almighty with how we use our virtues, talents, time, and resources. The practice of sin and vices wants to lead to irresponsibility and arrogance.
"He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, 'Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.' But his master answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."- Matthew 25: 24-30
The Parable of the Talents ends with the warning of making sure that we use our talents, virtues, time, and resources for the worship of GOD Almighty because the practice of sin and idol worship leads to stagnation and destruction. We learn that the wicked and slothful servant had decided to hide his talent in the ground instead of utilizing the talent for the worship of GOD Almighty. This describes that the talent was misutilized and ignored. This describes that idol worship and the practice of sin wants individuals to either misutilize their talents, virtues, time, and resources or to fail to improve themselves in the worship of GOD Almighty, obeying the commandments, and accepting and confessing King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. We learn that the slothful and worthless servant decided to hide his talent instead of improving in the worship of GOD Almighty.
We learn that while the righteous individuals utilized their talents for the worship of GOD Almighty, the wicked servant decided to practice sin and vices instead. We learn that the wicked servant is described being slothful meaning that there is the possibility that there are additional vices including intemperance, being a busybody or gossiper, envier, being covetous, and practicing iniquity and negative emotions. We learn that the wicked and slothful servant is cast out from gaining eternal salvation and instead there is condemnation. We learn that the Parable of the Talents actually speaks about choosing to worship GOD Almighty so that we can utilize everything that we have for the worship of GOD Almighty instead of practicing sin and idol worship. This describes the wisdom of persevering in the fear of the LORD obeying the commandments of Moses and not envying evildoers nor practicing sin and vices.
"Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble."- Proverbs 24: 1-2
