Persevering With Encouragement Amidst Circumstances, Envy, and Persecution
Persevering With Encouragement Amidst Circumstances, Envy, and Persecution
Positive Christianity Series Episode #134
We learn from the Sacred Scriptures about the righteous disciples and apostles who were able to preach King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. We learn that Cephas was able to preach in Jerusalem and be a rock of the Church of King Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. We learn that Cephas was able to preach amidst envy from the Saducees. We learn that even when there was persecution by the Saducees due to envy, Cephas persevered. This wisdom instructs us on the need to persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty amidst envy from evil. We learn that even when there was slander from the Saducees against Cephas because of the envy of seeing Cephas heal individuals because of the faith in King Jesus Christ, Cephas kept preaching King Jesus Christ and glorifying GOD Almighty. We are able to choose GOD Almighty above the things of the world. We learn that Cephas was able to convert individuals to Christianity in Israel describing the manner that King Jesus Christ knows all things describing that Cephas would be a rock to the Church of Jerusalem. We learn that Cephas was able to persevere preaching amidst persecution, slander, and envy from the Saducees.
We learn that there is power in the worship of King Jesus Christ because Cephas was able to heal the sick, individuals with infirmities, and illnesses. We learn that when individuals had faith in King Jesus Christ, they were able to be healed. We learn that individuals converted to Christianity because they were able to see that King Jesus Christ is Eternal LORD and Savior.
"And more than ever believers were added to the LORD, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Cephas came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed."- Acts 5: 14-16
We learn that the Saducees had decided to practice envy instead of being grateful and having gratitude to GOD Almighty because King Jesus Christ was allowing the healing signs to occur. We learn that instead of the Saducees worshiping GOD Almighty and having gladness of heart because individuals were being healed from sickness, they were envious. This describes that the Saducees did not really believe in GOD Almighty. We know that the Saducees denied the Resurrection of King Jesus Christ even though they acknowledged the marvellous signs of healing done by Cephas. The Saducees had envy because the people were worshiping GOD Almighty and believing in King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. Instead of rejoicing because individuals were worshiping GOD Almighty being healed from sickness, disease, and infirmities, they were envious that GOD Almighty was being worshiped.
"But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Saducees), and filled with envy they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison. But during the night an angel of the LORD opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 'Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.' And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach.'"- Acts 5: 17-21
"Then the captain of the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, 'We strictly charged you not to teach in his name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us?' But Cephas and the apostles answered, 'We must obey GOD rather than men.'"- Acts 5: 26-29
We learn that Cephas along with the apostles decide to keep preaching instead of listening to the temporary lies of the Saducees. We learn that Cephas and the apostles were healing individuals that had infirmities. This provides gladness of heart and true joy knowing that individuals were converting to King Jesus Christ because of the marvellous signs and wonders of healing of Cephas and the apostles. We learn that the Saducees had envy and did not want the signs and wonders associated with the name of King Jesus Christ because then individuals were going to believe in the Resurrection of King Jesus Christ. We learn that the Saducees did not want individuals to know about the Resurrection of King Jesus Christ because then that removes the fear of sin, death, and evil. Once individuals know that King Jesus Christ is eternal salvation, there is no need to fear death or evil. We know that King Jesus Christ conquered sin, death, and evil for all eternity in the crucifixion and the Resurrection on the third day approximately two thousand years ago. This wisdom allows us to persevere amidst envy, hate, and persecution because we know that King Jesus Christ helps us persevere. We are able to have autonomy from the practice of sin, vices, and idol worship. We learn that Cephas kept preaching and was freed with the apostles from prison when the Saducees had slandered them. Instead of fearing, they kept preaching with motivation, determination, zeal, and humility. We know that Cephas and the apostles kept preaching in the temple and the Saducees were surprised that they were freed and were still preaching King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. We learn that Cephas and the apostles replied that they were going to obey GOD Almighty instead of mortal men. We choose to worship the Creator, Maker, and LORD of Heaven and earth, and not creation. We learn that when we obey GOD Almighty above everything, we are able to grow in virtues that can not be described, enumerated, or quantified because they are eternal, infinite, and can keep growing in Shabbath Millennium and the New Earth. We are able to persevere improving ourselves each day instead of being stagnated in vices and the practice of sin and idol worship. We are able to keep persevering amidst circumstances, envy, and persecution.
"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with wisdom, and wisdom with self-dominion, and self-dominion with steadfastness, and steadfastness with righteousness, and righteousness with brotherly kindness, and brotherly kindness with filial love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ."- 2 Cephas 1: 5-8
