Avoiding the Practice of Idol Worship and Adultery
Positive Christianity Series Episode #172
"Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness, will find life, righteousness, and honor."- Proverbs 21: 21
The Sacred Scriptures describe that we can persevere with fidelity to the GOD of gods, GOD Almighty. We learn that evil attempts to tempt with idolatry and adultery. We can avoid the practice of sin by deciding to worship GOD Almighty above everything. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel were able to persevere in the desert without practicing idolatry and adultery. We learn that the disciples and apostles also were able to persevere without practicing idolatry and adultery. Paul was able to persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty and described the need to flee idolatry and avoid the practice of adultery.
We are supposed to persevere practicing righteousness described being obedience to the commandments of Moses. If we decide to love GOD Almighty above everything, we are going to be able to persevere practicing fidelity to GOD Almighty. We know that fidelity is the most important virtue that we can develop because fidelity allows us to increase in other virtues including zeal, responsibility, power, authority, perseverance, humility, and wisdom. We are supposed to practice genuine empathy by having filial love for Christian believers while guarding ourselves from idolators, adulterers, and adultresses. We are not supposed to practice envy and hate because that tries to lead individuals to remove genuine empathy and filial love so that false doctrines of idol worship try to lead to lust and hate. We are supposed to avoid the vices of lust and hate. We are supposed to avoid the adultresses, idolators, and adulterers that do not want to obey the path of life in obedience to the commandments of Moses.
"Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path of Sheol; she does not ponder the path of life; her ways wander, and she does not know it."- Proverbs 5: 5-6
We are able to distinguish the importance between wisdom and folly. We learn that obeying the commandments of Moses with sincerity of heart allows us to persevere with favor, blessings, health, and eternal salvation while being far apart from the practice of sin, idol worship, negative emotions describing anger, hate, envy, coveting, temporary lies, disbelief, lust, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality that attempt to lead to vices. We learn that the vices do not help and instead lead to grave sin, difficulties, and destruction. We learn that the snake attempts to tempt with adultery to lead to idol worship and idol worship attempts to lead to adultery. Solomon describes that we are supposed to be far apart from the adultress/adulterers that wants to lead to the path of destruction in the path of the wicked practicing sin, folly, adultery, idol worship, and vices.
We are able to persevere amidst temptations and persecution. We learn that evil attempted to tempt Moses and Israel with adultery and idolatry, yet Moses and the righteous were able to persevere without practicing sin. We learn that GOD Almighty favors and blesses Moses and the righteous of Israel so much so that they reach the land of Canaan that became the land of Israel. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel lived to long life. Moses lived to 120 years, and Joshua lived to 130 years. Abraham and Sarah lived for more than a hundred years of age. This describes the favor and blessings that exist in the worship of GOD Almighty. We also learn that their lives were interesting seeing that they had renovation of youth despite their old age. We learn that similar to Job who lives to long life, we are able to persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty and avoid temptations and persevere through persecution.
