"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the wisdom of GOD."- Proverbs 2: 1-5

We are supposed to prioritize the worship of GOD Almighty above everything that is temporary describing idolatry. We are supposed to persevere with wisdom knowing that we hate evil. This wisdom allows us to persevere increasing in insight, counsel, reproof, correction, knowledge, and understanding knowing that having fidelity to GOD Almighty prevents us from being in the road of perdition. We learn David instructed the importance of prioritizing the worship of GOD Almighty above everything including thousands of pieces of silver and gold

"The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces."- Psalm 119: 72

This wisdom prevents us from believing the temporary lies of evil that wants to tempt to the prioritizing of material resources such as gold, silver, and money. We learn about wicked individuals that did not persist because they decided to prefer idolatry to the correction and reproof in the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn about Balaam, Judas Iscariot, the idolators that worshiped the golden calf, and the Pharisees that worshiped money and gold. We learn that idolatry leads to destruction for the wicked. Balaam was killed by the sword, Judas Iscariot hung himself, the idolators who worshiped the golden calf died by the plague, and the Pharisees had insurrections against each other for the high priest position, their influence decreased, and the Second Temple was destroyed. We learn that we are not supposed to worship money, gold, and silver, and instead we choose to persevere worshiping the GOD of gods.
