David Describes the Need to Avoid Hypocrisy and Hypocrites in Psalm 119

Positive Christianity Series Episode #195

David was able to persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty being far apart from the practice of sin and idol worship. David is righteous and does not practice wickedness described in Psalm 26 about the need to avoid the wicked and hypocrites. David describes in the Psalms that there is the need to speak truth and obey the commandments of Moses. This wisdom prevents us from being hypocritical and envious. We learn that we are supposed to be righteous and good instead of hypocritical and wicked. We learn that there is wisdom in Scripture that prevents the practice of foolishness and evil. David describes the need to persevere practicing righteousness instead of foolishness

David was able to persevere when he was alone due to the persecution of Saul. Even amidst the envy, we learn that David was not alone because GOD Almighty was helping David persevere amidst the persecution. We learn that eventually people began to understand the truth and left to the land of the Philistines to be with David including Abiathar. We learn that when David was able to live in the land of the Philistines, there were righteous individuals in Israel who did not practice wickedness. We learn that Saul had envy towards David and persecuted the righteous priests because they had helped David. When Saul tells people from Israel to attack the righteous priests, the righteous question Saul and decide to not obey. We learn that Saul tells an Edomite, Doeg, to attack the priests. We learn that even amidst persecution, Abiathar is able to flee to where David was and obtain protection from the envy of Saul. David guards Abiathar and there are righteous individuals that decide to leave to the land of Philistia and help David.

"I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts."- Psalm 119: 63

David is able to prosper when he was alone being envied by Saul and again when righteous individuals decided to join David in the land of Philistia. This describes how GOD Almighty helps the righteous despite obstacles, circumstances, or persecution. David wants to know nothing of evil nor of evildoers. David perseveres having fidelity to GOD Almighty and helping the righteous. We learn that David helps the righteous including Abiathar who is a righteous priest. Abiathar was able to survive the persecution of Saul and seek refuge with David. We learn that David was able to live in harmony along with the righteous who had fled from Saul. David was able to live with the Philistines in harmony without practicing idolatry.

We learn that there were righteous individuals who did not obey Saul and did not attack the righteous priests. Instead they went to live with David in the land of the Philistines. Abiathar was able to survive and lived with David in the land of the Philistines. We learn that the righteous prospered and were able to persevere. This describes the favor that exists in the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that the number of priests increased when David has authority in Israel because of the worship of GOD Almighty and obedience to the commandments of Moses. We learn that we can persevere choosing fidelity to GOD Almighty instead of practicing folly and wickedness. Even amidst persecution, David is righteous and understands that GOD Almighty guards the righteous. We learn that there is favor and blessings in the worship of GOD Almighty
