Job's Story Describes the Importance of Unchanging Fidelity to GOD Almighty
Positive Christianity Series Episode #203
Job perseveres trusting in GOD Almighty knowing that even amidst adversity and times of difficulty, the worship of GOD Almighty is greater. While Job did not know all the details, Job had confidence that GOD Almighty would vindicate and remove the difficulties. We learn that Job trusts in GOD Almighty and knows that the times of adversity and difficulties are momentary. Job had gone through significant difficulties and we learn that the accuser still wanted to destroy Job. GOD Almighty guards Job from the envy of the accuser, and Job is able to persevere with fidelity to GOD Almighty. We learn that after having been affected with skin problems due to the envy of evil and not the practice of sin, Job perseveres. We learn that Bildad, another of Job's friends, also doubts Job. Bildad questions Job's innocence and tells him to repent of sin.
"Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said: " How long will you say these things, and the words of your mouth be a great wind? Does GOD pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?"- Job 8: 1-3
"If you will seek GOD and plead with the Almighty for mercy, if you are pure and upright, surely He will rouse Himself for you and restore your rightful habitation."- Job 8: 5-6
Bildad, another of Job's friends, also doubts Job's integrity and tells him that Job is speaking lies. Bildad like the other two friends, believes that Job practiced sin and that is the reason for his difficulties. We learn that Job is innocent and righteous yet it is the envy if the accuser that causes difficulties for Job. The story of Job is important because we are able to understand that sometimes there may be adversity not because we sin but because of the envy of the accuser. Even if there is persecution because of the envy of the accuser, GOD Almighty helps us persevere. Job instead of trusting in his friends, decides to trust in GOD Almighty. We learn that Job keeps having zeal and is not discouraged by the doubting of his friends. We learn to persevere doubting the discouragement, yet we can not doubt the Creator and LORD of all.
"He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to light. He makes nations great, and He destroys them; He enlarges nations, and leads them away."- Job 12: 22-23
Job describes how GOD Almighty can make deep darkness into light. We learn that to GOD Almighty the darkness is as light and that there is no darkness to GOD Almighty. We learn that GOD Almighty can create light even in deep darkness. We learn to acknowledge that GOD Almighty is LORD of all. GOD Almighty can create darkness and can create light from the darkness. We learn that GOD Almighty can create the sun, the moon, and the stars and tell them when to give light.
GOD Almighty is able to decide the fate of nations. We learn that GOD Almighty can make nations increase and can also decrease nations. GOD Almighty can enlarge nations and also destroy nations. We learn from the times of Assyria how they were allowed to increase so that they could afflict the idolatrous nations. In the story of Hezekiah and Isaiah, we learn that when Sennacherib attempts to attack Hezekiah, GOD Almighty diminishes Assyria. We learn that the Chaldeans are then able to afflict the Assyrians. The Chaldeans and the Assyrians both practiced idolatry, and yet they attacked each other. We learn that GOD Almighty is who decides if nations increase or decrease. GOD Almighty allowed Chaldea to increase so that they could afflict Assyria and allow the righteous remnant to increase while the land obtained Shabbath rest. We learn that the Persians later increased and Chaldea decreased because of Nebuchadnezzer's arrogance and not repenting of sin. While Persia practiced idolatry and Chaldea practiced idolatry, they still fought against each other. We learn that GOD Almighty is who decides if nations increase or decrease. Job does not get discouraged by going through significant difficulties and then being doubted by his supposed friends. This is because Job trusts in the Creator and LORD of all. We can persevere doubting the discouragements, but we can not doubt the Creator and LORD of all, GOD Almighty.
