Not Making Technology Idolatry and Denying the Technological Modification

Positive Christianity Series Episode #219

GOD Almighty allows us to know that we can persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty without practicing idolatry and adultery. The unchanging fidelity and devotion to GOD Almighty allows us to prosper without believing the temporary lies of the snake. We learn that the snake wants to tempt with temporary lies so that money, false "relationships", self-worship, and even technology can become idolatry. We learn that we are created to worship GOD Almighty and not technology or idolatry. There are different things that can become idolatry if they look to be priority over the worship of GOD Almighty and lead far from GOD Almighty. We know that in the end times, there will be lies told to lead far from GOD Almighty. We know that Daniel tells us that in the end times individuals may be tempted to merge with technology.

"As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay."- Daniel 2: 43

Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzer's dream describes that the end times will be characterized by a kingdom that may be the mixing of idolatrous humans with technology. We learn that this is described in Revelation 13: 16-18. We know that post-modern society has attempted to make it seem that technology is necessary and vital to live. We learn that while technology may be used for good, we have to have dominion over technology. We learn that our grandparents were able to live in harmony and persevere without placing all their emphasis on technology. We learn that they did not have gps, cell phones, computers, tablets, self driving cars, "artificial intelligence", internet, satellite, television cable, subscriptions to propaganda magazines and yet persevered raising their families and instructing ethics and integrity to their grandchildren (grandparents preferred to walk than drive and persevered with good health).

We can use technology without idolizing and prioritizing technology over the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that the worship of GOD Almighty is greater than technology. We learn that technology can be a snare that can lead to destruction. There have been stories of self-driving cars that have crashed along with the individuals being driven by the self-driving cars. There are questions concerning who is responsible for self-driving car accidents? There is the need to be vigilant and skeptical of technology in these days especially when phones and computers can be hacked (One of my computers has been locked through a cyber attack, and I can not log in). (On another occasion, I remember a time when we were driving and the gps told us to turn right being that to the right was the sea. We decided to not listen to the gps signal instructions and did not turn to the sea. What could have happened if the gps instructions were integrated to the self-driving car and instead of suggesting a turn to the right, it took the turn to the right. This is knowing that cars can not transform into submarines. If it was a submarine car well there would be no worry.) This is so that we place our trust in GOD Almighty and not in technology. This is because we are supposed to trust in GOD Almighty and not in technology. We learn that the worship of GOD Almighty allows us to develop wisdom and not believe the temporary lies of the snake.

"And in the days of those kings the GOD of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand for ever; just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great GOD has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure."- Daniel 2: 44-45

We can not worship technology knowing that the worship of GOD Almighty is greater. We learn that King Jesus Christ is the stone that breaks the metal image that represents the idolatrous kingdoms of the world throughout history. We learn that King Jesus Christ is Eternal and His kingdom everlasting. We can choose to prioritize the worship of King Jesus Christ over idolatry and technology. We learn that we must have dominion over technology and not believe the temporary lies that say that merging or joining with technology is necessary. We can choose to worship GOD Almighty and be far apart from idolatry and technology.
