Worshiping GOD Almighty With Our Singleness
Worshiping GOD Almighty With Our Singleness
Positive Christianity Series Episode #213
Paul instructs us on the need to worship GOD Almighty above everything, avoiding temptation, and persevering amidst persecution. We learn that Paul was single and did not have a relationship nor was he ever married. When we are single, we can use our singleness to worship GOD Almighty and be free from the cares of the world. We can actually appreciate our singleness because we can use our time, talents, virtues, and resources for the worship of GOD Almighty and not have to envy others. The snake wants single individuals to envy married individuals and married individuals to envy single individuals. Instead of having envy and ingratitude, we can understand that gratitude and motivation allows us to persevere without comparing ourselves to others.
"I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the LORD, how to please the LORD. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided."- 1 Corinthians 7: 32-34
Single individuals do not have to compare themselves to married individuals. Paul describes this wisdom of allowing us to see that being single allows us to prioritize the worship of GOD Almighty over everything. This prevents us from prioritizing the cares of the world that can become idolatry. We can be free from the worries and cares of the world by instead having gratitude and appreciating the opportunity to preach truth. We learn that in our singleness we have autonomy and freedom that prevents us from having ingratitude and envy. We learn to appreciate our virtues so that we can preach King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior and obey the commandments of Moses. We can have gratitude for being able to preach King Jesus Christ and also help individuals learn about eternal salvation in King Jesus Christ. This wisdom prevents us from being envious of others and instead persevere with happiness and motivation similar to Paul.
"So then he who marries his bethrothed does well, and he who refrains from marriage will do even better."- 1 Corinthians 7: 38
This wisdom allows us to appreciate our singleness for the worship of GOD Almighty and not compare ourselves to others. The snake wants to cause false "comparisons" concerning the need to compare with others, yet we know that each individual is unique and different. We learn that there have been individuals throughout history who have not married including prophets, righteous individuals, priests, and nuns including Jeremiah, Paul, Hannah (did not remarry after being a widow), Mother Theresa of Calcutta, and Pope John Paul II. We learn that there have been righteous individuals that have decided to worship GOD Almighty above everything. This describes that singleness can be used to persevere with meaning and purpose knowing that while we are all the same in worshiping GOD Almighty, we are also different and unique. We also know that there is going to be time in Shabbath Millennium for marriages and starting families.
For married individuals, they do not have to compare themselves with others either. We learn that married individuals are able to worship GOD Almighty above everything and instruct the importance of the worship of GOD Almighty to their spouse and children. We learn that married individuals can have gratitude for being able to be married and maintain fidelity in their marriage. We learn that marriages are important and prevent instability in society and nations. Married individuals can persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty and keep fidelity to each other. In these times, it is important to keep instructing the worship of GOD Almighty and obeying the commandments of Moses while repenting of sin. We can be far apart from false doctrines of idolatry and adultery, false prophets, and negative emotions. This wisdom allows us to persevere worshiping GOD Almighty, respecting humanity, having gladness, and gratitude for not being in the road of perdition in the practice of sin, idol worship, self-worship, envy, bitterness, temporary lies, deceit, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, avarice, greed, lukewarmness, lack of belief, arrogance, slothfulness, intemperance, stingyness, anger, resentfulness, and ingratitude. Instead, we can be positive and see the good of everything knowing that if we worship GOD Almighty above everything, GOD Almighty does not forsake us. This is true regarding not having ingratitude since we know that each person is different and unique and does not need to be exactly the same as everyone else. Single individuals are unique and distinct, and married individuals are distinct and unique. The worship of GOD Almighty helps us be similar in being servants of GOD Almighty and not have envy.
