No False “Comparisons”
No False “Comparisons”
Positive Christianity Series Episode #235
GOD Almighty tells us that we do not have to compare ourselves to anyone because we each have distinctness and uniqueness in the worship of GOD Almighty. We can instead trust in GOD Almighty over everything and persevere being distinct and unique.
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”- Psalm 28: 7
David described that GOD Almighty is his strength and shield. If we have the worship of GOD Almighty, we have everything that we need. We learn that David did not compare himself to others and instead appreciated others describing Abiathar, Abishai, and Joab. We learn that unlike Saul who despised David, David learned why he could not hate, envy, and resent others. While Abiathar, Abishai, and Joab were impressive, David did not envy them.
The snake wants individuals to compare themselves to others so that there is envy, bitterness, hate, and coveting. Instead of wanting to compare ourselves to other people, we choose to have gratitude for being unique and distinct in the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that David did not compare himself to anyone, and we know how amazing and impressive the story of David is.
“The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever.”- Psalm 28: 8–9
We learn that GOD Almighty creates each individual to be unique and distinct. That is why there are 8.2 billion people in the world because GOD Almighty decided to create each individual different and distinct. We learn that not all 8.2 billion people are tall. Not all 8.2 billion people are short. Not all 8.2 billion people are chunky. Not all 8.2 billion people are skinny. Not all 8.2 billion people are men. Not all 8.2 billion people are woman. Not all 8.2 billion people have a lot of melanin. Not all 8.2 billion people have a little of melanin. Yet we know that we all probably derive from Noah’s descendants. Instead of hating others based on our differences, we can appreciate that while being unique and distinct, we are also the same in the worship of GOD Almighty. The snake wants individuals to hate others based on their differences, while we know that our differences should not be reason to hate others. This is because the snake hates that individuals can live in harmony and serenity. We do not have to compare ourselves to anyone, and instead we can be grateful for being distinct and unique. We also do not need false “relationships”, temporary material wealth, false friends of convenience, nor idol worship. We need GOD Almighty, the Eternal GOD of gods.
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”- Psalm 139: 14
