Favor and Blessings in the Worship of GOD Almighty

Favor and Blessings in the Worship of GOD Almighty

Positive Christianity Series Episode #306

Trusting in GOD Almighty allows us to persevere with everything that we need. GOD Almighty did not forsake Abijah to Jeroboam and delivered him from the threats and intimidations of Jeroboam's envy. While Jeroboam had a larger army, more resources, and even ambushed Abijah, it was actually Abijah who defeated Jeroboam.

"Then the men of Judah raised the battle shout. And when the men of Judah shouted, GOD defeated Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. The men of Israel fled before Judah, and GOD gave them into their hand. Abijah and his people struck them with great force, so there fell slain of Israel 500,000 chosen men. Thus the men of Israel were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD, the GOD of their fathers."- 2 Chronicles 13: 15-18

Despite the illusion that Jeroboam had a larger army, it was Abijah who had greater might in the worship of GOD Almighty. We learn that Abijah was defending himself and his kingdom of Judah from the harassment and envy of Jeroboam who was worshiping two golden calves of gold. The practice of idol worship led to foolishness and to be hostile to Abijah. Abijah defended himself from the hostilities of Jeroboam in the worship of GOD Almighty.

"And Abijah pursued Jeroboam and took cities from him, Bethel with its villages and Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages. Jeroboam did not recover his power in the days of Abijah. And the LORD struck him down, and he died. But Abijah grew mighty."- 2 Chronicles 13: 19-21

We learn that Abijah grew mighty in the worship of GOD Almighty while Jeroboam declined. GOD Almighty did not forsake Abijah to Jeroboam's envy and foolishness and destroyed Jeroboam. We learn that we can keep fidelity to GOD Almighty knowing that we improve in the worship of GOD Almighty. Abijah trusted in GOD Almighty and was able to defeat a larger army with more resources that even tried to ambush. Despite all of that, Abijah conquered Jeroboam. We learn that the practice of envy and foolishness in idolatry did not help Jeroboam. After being defeated by Abijah, Jeroboam declined and was ultimately struck down by GOD Almighty when he returned to Israel. When Abijah was threatened by Jeroboam, he did not go to diplomacy with other nations, trust in his might, trust in his silver and gold, nor go to a medium or idol worshiper. Abijah trusted in GOD Almighty, worshiped GOD Almighty, and allowed GOD Almighty to work wonders destroying Jeroboam's larger army. We learn that the worship of GOD Almighty is superior and greater than the temporary imperfect things of the world. That is why we do not listen and much less believe the temporary lies of the snake that tries to make you question how GOD Almighty is able to help. The snake probably told Abijah, "How is GOD Almighty going to help you when you are surrounded by a larger army?" Abijah glorified and extolled the Maker of Heaven and Earth and crushed Jeroboam and his larger army. Abijah's fidelity to GOD Almighty instructs us to place our priority in the worship of GOD Almighty instead of trusting in silver, gold, stagflated currency, might, fake acquaintances, and the temporary imperfect things of the world. GOD Almighty saw Abijah's unchanging fidelity similar to David's and guarded him from foolish Jeroboam.

We  learn from the story of Abijah that there are only two paths in this life. We learn that individuals can either choose the path of the righteous obeying the commandments of Moses and preaching King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior or the path of perdition disobeying GOD Almighty and practicing envy and foolishness. We prefer to keep fidelity to GOD Almighty who is our might

"I call upon th LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies."- Psalm 18: 3

Learning Hebrew

Mashiach, משאה, means Messiah. The term Messiah means the LORD's anointed indicating the Eternal King of kings. Prophets would anoint kings with olive oil indicating that they were favored by GOD Almighty. King Jesus Christ is the Eternal Messiah described in the Books of the Prophets who is the Son of David and who Resurrected from the dead. King Jesus Christ is the Eternal King of kings who is greater than David because He is GOD Almighty
