Denying Temptation (Envy/ Cowardice)

 Denying Temptation (Envy/ Cowardice)

Positive Christianity Series Episode #338

GOD Almighty instructs us in Scripture about the need to avoid bad company and corruption. We learn that false "friendships" and false "relationships" can also lead to the practice of idol worship and envy. Practicing idol worship and envy leads to the perdition of the wicked. We learn that we are not supposed to believe the temporary lies of the snake that wants to lead to disobedience based on envy. We learn that we can persevere with bravery and have gratitude instead of cowardice and envy

"Good sense wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is their ruin."- Proverbs 13: 15

The story of Benedict Arnold describes that individuals must not be envious and wicked. We learn that the story of Paul Revere was impressive because Paul Revere was loyal to his country and bretheren. Revere alerted the American militia of the British so that they could defend themselves. Risking his life, Revere notified American militia members and signers of the Declaration of Independence of how the British were trying to impede independence in 1776. Revere helped his country persevere and is remembered as an impressive American hero.

Benedict Arnold betrayed his country by deciding to give West Point to the British army in exchange for £20,000. Arnold decided to betray his country because he was arrogant, envious, and caused strife with other military officers. Arnold was resentful that he was passed over for a promotion despite having significant injuries. Instead of understanding that he had injuries and there were other soldiers who did not, he was angry to not be promoted although that would have caused struggles to other soldiers in the battlefield. Arnold was envious and resentful. He also decided to marry a woman that was British causing his loyalty to diminish. Because his wife spent lavishly, he decided to help the British in exchange for money. Arnold was treacherous, angry, and envious.

"Righteousness guards him whose path is blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked."- Proverbs 13: 6

Benedict Arnold was resentful for not being given a greater position in the American militia and decided to betray his country (despite having injuries that could have placed other soldiers in danger). Arnold did not understand this and instead decided to be resentful and decided to betray his country. Benedict Arnold decided to betray and helped the British attack West Point. The American militia found out and was able to defend West Point. Upon being found out, Benedict Arnold fled the country to England where he was also distrusted. Despite the betrayal from Benedict Arnold, the United States still received its independence from tyranny. We learn about the impressive stories of George Washington who led the American militia to numerous victories and ultimately to independence from England. Despite not being the world power at that time in 1776, the American forces defeated Britain. The American militia defeated the British despite only being a militia. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and Alexander Hamilton also helped describe the need for independence from tyranny and authoritarianism. England had been raising taxes without representation, made a monopoly preventing Americans from selling tea, and nullified the Massachussets Bay Charter for refusing to go along with authoritarianism and tyranny. The American Revolution described that the Founding Fathers were inspired by autonomy and refused to go along with tyranny (We can follow the example by refusing to get "vaccinated" with an experimental "vaccine" and avoid idol worship. We do not need socialism. Instead we need to keep fidelity to GOD Almighty). While America was not the world power at that time, they were able to prosper and thrive. Even with a turncoat like Benedict Arnold who was found out, America still became independent. GOD Almighty gave independence to the United States from tyranny in the 1700s. (In these times, we can learn the lesson of avoiding rat snakes like Benedict Arnold who was envious, resentful, spiteful, and idolatrous choosing to be bribed rather than to keep fidelity to his country and bretheren. The important lesson is to avoid rat snakes like Benedict Arnold who envy and resent others for being logical and having empathy. We also do not harm socialists and instead leave the vengeance in the hands of GOD Almighty and keep worshiping and preaching King Jesus Christ.) Benedict Arnold was an idolator, coward, and envious. The Americans found out yet did not hang him for treason. Benedict Arnold fled to England with his wife where he was also distrusted. Benedict Arnold lived resentful in England also where he was not promoted nor prominent. Benedict Arnold was proud and arrogant which would explain his envy and resentments. Instead of understanding that he was given easier assignments for his injuries while still being allowed to be a soldier in the battlefield, he became envious and betrayed the soldiers that were looking out for him and the other soldiers. We can avoid treacherous rat snakes like Benedict Arnold who was not humble nor sincere and instead was envious and resentful. We can be similar to Paul Revere and nothing like Benedict Arnold.

Learning Hebrew

Mizvotim, משבחימ, means commandments in Hebrew. (The -im suffix describes that it is plural.) We learn that the commandments describe the need to not covet. We are not supposed to envy because we are supposed to have gratitude for the things we have and even for the things we do not have that we do not need. The reason for this is that if we have gratitude, we do not have ingratitude. Ingratitude wants to lead to negative emotions such as envy and envy to coveting. Instead of envying, we can have gratitude for everything that we have. Benedict Arnold decided to envy other soldiers and also practice cowardice. Instead of being grateful of being allowed to still be a soldier in the battlefield, he decided to envy and resent leadership. We learn to persevere accepting correction and reproof while having gratitude. We can ignore the temporary lies of the snake that wants to cause division and enmity. The snake attempts to cause envy. When we remove envy from our lives, we are going to respect humanity instead of envying othes without reason. That is why envy needs to be removed from our lives. The worship of GOD Almighty removes envy, and the practice of idol worship actually causes envy. We can avoid envy and idol worship.
