Persevering With Fidelity to GOD Almighty Described in Psalm 23
Persevering With Fidelity to GOD Almighty Described in Psalm 23
Positive Christianity Series Episode #339
David described in the Psalms how fidelity is a virtue that must be prioritized. The virtue of fidelity allows us to persevere despite obstacles, adversity, and persecution. David was able to keep fidelity to GOD Almighty and persevered through everything never practicing idol worship a single day of his life. David's life reminds us that we can actually prioritize fidelity to GOD Almighty and persevere. GOD Almighty never forsook David. Psalm 23 describes how GOD Almighty is present in our lives.
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."- Psalm 23: 1
Psalm 23 reminds us that GOD Almighty provides all our basic necessities including food, water, air, light, shelter, clothing, protection and deliverance from the envy of the snake, health, salvation, eternal salvation, favor, blessings, and virtues. Because we have the worship of GOD Almighty, we have everything that we need to persevere in the path of eternal salvation. If we do not have something, it is because we do not need it. We can have gratitude to GOD Almighty for everything that we have and remove ingratitude from our lives. If something tries to lead to idol worship, then we do not need it. We can have gratitude for not having things that try to lead to idol worship and the road of perdition.
"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters."- Psalm 23: 2
David described how GOD Almighty provides for our basic necessities including food and water. We learn that GOD Almighty is our Shepherd who guides us to the path of eternal salvation and far apart from the road of perdition. In the worship of GOD Almighty, we are able to have everything that we need. When we are told temporary lies by the snake that tries to lead to temptation or discouragement of our faith, we can persist reminding ourselves of the eternal truth in Scripture. (Temptations are never what they appear to be because they are based on temporary lies. The discouragements are so that an individual's faith does not grow to confidence, confidence to zeal, and zeal to unchanging fidelity. The snake fears unchanging fidelity in faithful Christians seen in how Moses divided the Red Sea and David conquered Goliath). Instead we can remind ourselves of the eternal truth, "The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want." We can remind ourselves that we have even greater than what we can imagine knowing that we have eternal salvation to persevere to Shabbath Millennium and New Jerusalem. We have favor and blessings that can not be compared to being able to persist with unchanging determination and steadfast discipline in the worship of GOD Almighty.
I have not lacked anything in the past, do not lack anything in the present, and won't lack anything in the future. We can persevere trusting in the Eternal and Infinite Maker of Heaven and earth. That is why David confirms GOD Almighty's eternal fidelity in Psalm 23 and also lives his life prioritizing the worship of GOD Almighty. David described that the worship of GOD Almighty is greater than thousands of gold and silver pieces (Psalm 119: 72). We learn that it is better to keep fidelity to GOD Almighty (Psalm 91: 1-2, Psalm 91: 9-10). The worship of GOD Almighty is greater than the temporary things of this imperfect world. This wisdom allows us to avoid idol worship that does not help and also leads to discouragement, difficulties, foolishness, envy, bitterness, anger, hate, intemperance, arrogance, temporary lies, lust, adultery, homosexuality, slothfulness, indiscipline, stagnation, vices, and destruction.
"For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the Heavens."- Psalm 96: 5
Learning Hebrew
Baruch, ברכה, means blessing in Hebrew. Baruch means blessing in Hebrew and is also the name of a Jewish individual that Jeremiah was able to convert to Christianity despite opposition. We learn that we have favor and blessings in the worship of GOD Almighty. Psalm 23 of David describes how GOD Almighty allows us to persevere through adversity because we place our trust in the Creator and LORD of everything and not in the temporary things of the world. We learn that the favor and blessings are greater than the temporary things of the world. We learn that Abraham and Sarah had their basic necessities and were blessed with eternal descendants for keeping fidelity to GOD Almighty above temporary wealth. Abraham and Sarah were wealthy, yet did not worship money similar to Zacchaeus. Abraham and Sarah were able to have numerous children, the land of Canaan that became the land of Israel, live to long life, have renovation of youth, be industrious, be faithful to GOD Almighty, not worship wealth, and keep fidelity in their marriage. The biggest blessing of Abraham and Sarah was that GOD Almighty was and is the GOD of Abraham and Sarah. We can persevere acknowledging that GOD Almighty is eternally faithful to His word and does not forsake us. We may not have an electric lamborghini, designer clothing, piles of stagflated currency in the bank, false "relationships", nor false "friendships", yet we have everything that we need to avoid idol worship and avoid the road of destruction.
